Dr. Mevlüt Çetinkaya received his Ph.D. in Economics from Dokuz Eylül University, Institute of Social Sciences, in 1998 with his dissertation titled “An Analysis of the Protection Structure of Turkish Industry During the Trade Liberalization Process.”

He began his professional career at Petkim Holding A.Ş. in 1982 and currently serves as an Advisor to the Refinery & Petrochemicals Business Unit at SOCAR Turkey.

In the academic field, he has lectured on Marketing and Industrial Economics at Dokuz Eylül University and Ege University in İzmir. He has also held board member positions in various sectoral non-governmental organizations such as the Turkish Plastics Industrialists’ Association (PAGDER) and the Aegean Exporters' Association. He is a member of the Plastics Assembly of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).

His areas of expertise include petrochemicals and the plastics industry, as well as economics, sustainability, and the circular economy. He is also the founder of TTCP Training and Consultancy Company.
