Deniz Okan Savaş was born in 1984 in Kayseri, Türkiye. He graduated from Marmara University, Faculty of Business Administration, in 2010. In the same year, he began his career as an Assistant Customs Inspector and was promoted to Customs and Trade Inspector in 2014 and to Chief Trade Inspector in 2021. Since 2022, he has been serving as the Head of the Exemptions and E-Commerce Customs Procedures Department at the Ministry of Trade.

Between 2017 and 2019, he completed a dual master's degree in International Trade and Business and Accounting at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia, with a scholarship.

Throughout his career, he has led numerous projects focused on the digitalization of customs processes, e-commerce operations, and modernization of exemption systems. He has represented Türkiye and the Ministry of Trade in international platforms organized by the World Customs Organization, the World Trade Organization, and the United Nations.

He specializes in auditing, foreign trade, and digital transformation, supported by his domestic and international academic background. He has an excellent command of English. He is married and has one child.
