
Cemil Çakar was born in Boyabat/Sinop in 1965. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Economics in 1986. He speaks English (advanced), German (intermediate), Italian (intermediate) and Russian (intermediate). He has been in plastics and chemical raw materials import and international trade and an expert in international business development and joint ventures since 1998.
Cemil Çakar actively serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Karex Polimer ve Petrokimya Dış Tic. Ltd. Şti and Karex Enerji A.Ş. In addition, he holds the positions of Honorary Trade Advisor to the Royal Thai Government in Turkey, Chairman of the DEİK Turkey-Thailand Business Council, and Deputy Chairman of the DEİK Turkey-Korea Business Council. He has also served as a Board Member of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce in Turkey.
Through these roles, he has played an active part in organizing numerous official delegations, international business meetings, and business delegation visits. Cemil Çakar is married and has three children.
